Ingredients
- 2 1/2 c. flour
- 1/2 c. cold butter
- 2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 3/4 c. milk
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 beaten egg
- 1 tbsp. sugar (optional)
- 1 egg + 1 tbsp. milk to brush the tops of the biscuits before baking

Step 1
Mix all dry ingredients. Cut in butter until dough is grainy. Mix all wet ingredients in. Do not overmix.
Roll to 1/2 inch thick and cut into biscuits with biscuit cutter or a glass.
Bake at 400 for 10-15 minutes
