Ingredients

  • 1 vanilla bean or 2 tsp vanilla
  • 2 3/4 cups flour
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 6 Tbs butter, melted

Preparation

Step 1

Pre-heat oven to 325

Combine flour, sugar, baking powder and salt in a large bowl.
Make a well in the center and place eggs and yolks. Stir well.
Add butter and vanilla until dough becomes a ball.

Turn dough onto a floured surface. Flatten into 14" logs. Dust with sugar.

Bake for 25-30 minuesd or until light brown. Remove from oven and cool 15 minutes. Cut each roll into potions and place cut side down. Bake an additional 10 minutes. Turn over slices and bake for another 10-15 minutes until crispy and dry.
