Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 C cherries, pitted & coarsley chopped
  • 2 TBL raspberry liqueur, such as chbord
  • 3/4 C plus 2 TBL sugar
  • 1 C heavy cream
  • 1 C whole milk
  • 1/2 C chopped dark chocolate

Preparation

Step 1

in med bowl, toss cherries w/ liqueur
cover & let soak for at least 8 HTS or overnight
strain, reserving liquid & cherries separately

in sm. saucepan, combine 3/4 C water & 3/4 C sugar
cook, stirring, over med-high heat until sugar is dissolved
transfer to lg. bowl & let cool
whisk in cream & milk

using ice cream maker, process milk mix. according to manufacture's instructions
in sm. saucepan bring reserved cherry juice & remaining 2 TBL sugar to boil, whisking
cook over high heat until syrupy, abt 5 min
remove from heat & refrigerate


abt. 5 min before ice cream is finished churning, mix in reserved cherries & the chocolate

to serve, drizzle w/ cherry syrup
