Ingredients

  • 2 cups cake flour, sifted
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 2 t baking powder
  • 1/4 t nutmeg
  • 1 t salt
  • 3/4 cup buttermilk
  • 2 eggs, lightly beaten
  • 2 T butter, melted

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 425. Spray doughnut pans w/ nonstick cooking spray.
In a large mixing bowl, sift together dry ingredients. Mix in wet ingredients just until combined. Fill each doughnut cup 2/3 full.
Bake 7-9 minutes or until top springs back when touched. Let cool 4-5 minutes before removing. Finish in one of the following ways:
1. Toss in ziploc bag w/ confectioner's sugar.
2. Dip in melted butter, & roll in cinnamon/sugar (2 T sugar, 1 T cinnamon) mixture.
3. Glaze w/ 1/2 cup chocolate chips melted w/ 2 T butter & 2 T corn syrup at 50% power in the microwave. Beat w/ 1 t hot water. If too thick, thin w/ another t of hot water.
