Ingredients
- 2 1/2 lbs Chicken (or 1 frying chicken)
- 1 1/2 tablespoons Butter
- 1 1/2 Oil
- 1 cup Onions - finely chopped
- 2 tablespoons Hungarian paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups chicken stock - well seasoned
- 2 teaspoons flour
- 1 cup Sour cream

Step 1
Melt butter and oil in a large heavy pot. Add onions and paprika & simmer until glossy, red and slightly cooked. Add salt and chicken stock. As soon as liquid starts to boil, add chicken. Simmer covered until tender - about 1 hour.
Mix sour cream with 2 teaspoons of flour and stir in slowly into chicken mixture and simmer until thickened and smooth - about 5 minutes but do not boil. Serve at once. Good over rice or noodles.
