Ingredients

  • 2 cans chicken broth
  • 1 cup cooked chopped chicken and-or pork
  • 4 ounces thinly-sliced shitake mushrooms
  • 1/2 cup thinly-sliced bamboo shoots
  • 3 Tablespoons rice wine vinegar
  • ( or rice vinegar and rice wine )
  • 2 Tablespoons soysauce
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons chili paste
  • ( or Chinese chile sauce )
  • 2 Tablespoons cornstarch
  • enough water to make a thin paste
  • with the cornstarch
  • 2 teaspoons sesame oil
  • 4 ounces firm tofu cut into 1/2 inch pieces
  • garnish : chopped cilantro
  • and thinly sliced green onions

Preparation

Step 1

Place in the crock pot : all ingredients except the sesame oil, tofu, cilantro, and green onions. Cook at high for 2-3 hours or at low for 3-4 hours. Add the sesame oil and tofu and cook about 15 minutes. Garnish with cilantro and sliced green onions.
