Ingredients

  • 1 c elbow macaroni
  • 1/4 c chopped onion
  • 1 T butter
  • 1 T flour
  • dash pepper
  • 1 1/4 c milk
  • 1 1/2 c shredded cheese
  • 1 med tomato slices

Preparation

Step 1

1- Cook macaroni in unsalted water 10 min. Drain well

2-Meanwhile, for cheese sauce, in a med pan cook onion in butter til tender but not brown Stir in flour and pepper. Add milk all at once. Cook and stir til slightly thickened and bubbly. Add cheese, stirring til melted. Sitir in cooked macaroni. Put mix in 1 qt casserole dish

3- Bake 350 25-30 min. Arrange tomato on tip

Saucepan method- Prepare as above except reduce milk to 3/4 c. Immediately return pasta to pan. Pour cheese sauce over it and mix. Cook over low heat 3-5 min..
