Ingredients
- 4 pounds of pork spareribs
- 2 cups apple cider
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 2 cups chopped onion
- 2 cloves of minced garlic
- 2 tsp salt
- 2 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp red pepper flakes
- 2 tsp granulated sugar
- 2 bay leaves
- 2 tsps dried thyme
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 2 Tbls

Step 1
Place ribs in a large pot and cover with cold water. Bring to a boil over high heat and boil about 10 minutes (removes a lot of the fat) Remove from broth and drain and place in a large baking pan (use a pan, not a dish).
In a large saucepan over high heat. combine the vinegar, broth, onions , garlic, salt . pepper, red pepper flakes, sugar, bay leaves, thyme, oil and dry mustard. Bring to a boil. Lower heat and simmer for 10 minutes. Preheat oven to 300 F. Pour 2 cups of the barbecue sauce over the ribs. Cover with aluminum foil and bake until the ribs are tender and brown 2 1/2 to 3 hours. Add broth to the pan if the ribs become dry during cooking. Serve immediately with extra sauce.
