- 1/2 CUP SHORTENING
- 1 stick butter (or margarine)
- 3 cups granulated sugar
- 3 cups plain flour
- 6 eggs 1 cup milk
- 1/2 tsp. baking powder 1 tsp. vanilla

DO NOT PREHEAT OVEN!!
Cream shortening and butter with sugar. Add one egg at a time, beating after each addition. Sift flour. Add baking soda and sift again. Add flour & milk alternately to mixture. Add vanilla. Pour into a greased and floured tube pan.
Bake 1 hour and 15 minutes at 350 degrees.
