Ingredients

  • Meatballs:
  • 1 1/2 lb ground pork
  • 1 tablespoon finely chopped ginger
  • 1/3 c. water chestnuts, finely chopped
  • 1/2 small onion, chopped
  • 1/2 small jalapeno, seeded and chopped
  • 2 tablespoon chopped cilantro
  • 3 cloves garlic, finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1/2 c. bread crumbs
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • Sauce:
  • 1 tsp. finely chopped jalapeno, seeded
  • 3 cloves garlic, finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon cilantro
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon ginger
  • 1/2 c. barbecue sauce
  • 1/2 c. duck sauce
  • 1/2 c. sweet and sour sauce
  • 1/4 c. hoisin sauce
  • 1/4 c. chicken broth
  • 4 scallions, white and green parts, thinly sliced

Grease a baking sheet with cooking spray. In a large bowl, combine meatball ingredients thoroughly with hands. Using wet hands, form mixture into balls and place on cookie sheet.

Bake for 20 minutes at 375 degrees until meatballs are slightly browned, shaking pan occasionally.

In a large bowl, mix all sauce ingredients except scallions, stirring well. Place meatballs in a slow cooker, pouring sauce over and stirring gently.

Cover and cook for 4 hours. Serve from slow cooker or on a plate garnished with scallions.
