Ingredients
- 3 sticks of butter - salted
- 2 1/2 C sugar
- 4 eggs
- 3 1/2 C flour
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 C buttermilk
- 1 1/2 tbls vanilla
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 2 tbls warm water

Preparation
Step 1
Cream together 3 sticks of butter - room temperature with 2 1/2 C sugar.
Add eggs (room temperature) one at a time and beat into mix
In separate bowl, mix flour together with salt.
Add flour & salt mixture into batter alternately with the buttermilk - begin and end with the dry mix
Add 1 1/2 tbls vanilla to batter
Dissolve 1/2 tsp baking soda in 2 tbls warm water
Add this to batter
Do NOT preheat oven. Use bundt pan greased with butter and flour.
Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. Then turn oven down to 325 degrees and cook for another 30-45 minutes, test with toothpick. Pull out cake before done.
