Ingredients
- 1 teaspoon butter, softened
- 1 cup whipping cream
- 1/3 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper
- 2 garlic cloves, crushed
- 6 medium potatoes
- 1 cup shredded Swiss cheese
- 1/4 cup shredded parmesan cheese

Preparation
Step 1
Grease a shallow 1 1/2 quart baking dish with butter; set aside.
In a saucepan, combine cream, milk, salt, pepper and garlic. Cook just until bubbles begin to form around the sides of pan. Remove from the heat; cook for 10 minutes.
Peel and thinly slice potatoes; pat dry with paper towels. Layer half of the potatoes in a prepared baking dish; top with half of the cream mixture and half of the cheeses. Repeat layers. Bake, uncovered, at 350 degrees for 55 to 65 minutes or until potatoes are tender. Let stand for 5 to 10 minutes before serving.
