- 1/2 cup (125 ml) granulated sugar
- 1/2 tsp. (2 ml) vanilla extract
- 1 cup (250 ml) icing sugar, sifted

Step 1
* preheat oven to 175 F/ 80 C (or as low as oven will go)
*beat egg whites until soft peaks form
* slowly beat in sugar
* beat approximately 3 more min. until thick and shiny
* beat in vanilla
* gently fold in icing sugar into meringue mix in 3-4 batches
* use piping bag with medium size star nozzle and pipe kisses onto baking sheets lined with parchment paper
* may drop by spoon if do not have a piping bag
* bake for 1 hour (until dry on the outside but not coloured)
* rotate pans halfway through baking time
* turn off oven, leave cookies in oven to dry for several hours
