Ingredients

• 1 ) 1 1/2 cups sugar
• 2 ) 2/3 cup shortening
• 3 ) 2 eggs
• 4 ) 1 teaspoon vanilla
• 5 ) 3 1/2 cups flour
• 6 ) 2 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
• 7 ) 1/2 teaspoon salt
• 8 ) 1/2 cup milk

Preparation

Step 1

Mix first four ingredients in large mixing bowl until smooth. Put flour, baking soda and salt in a separate bowl. Add to mixing bowl gradually with milk. Cover and refrigerate at least 2 hours or overnight. Divide dough into 2 halves. Roll out on floured table and cut into shapes. Place on lightly greased cookie sheet. Sprinkle with sugar - (unless you plan to frost them.) Bake at 350 for 7 to 8 minutes.
