Ingredients

  • 1 cup all purpose flour
  • 2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp. cream of tartar
  • 1/4 tsp. sugar
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 cup butter, cut up
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/3 cup milk

Preparation

Step 1

1. Preheat overn to 450 degrees. Mix flour, baking powder, cream of tartar, sugar and salt in medium bowl. Cut in butter with pastry blender or two knives until mixture resembles course crumbs. Stir in cheese. Add milk; stir until mixture forms soft dough.
2. Plance on lightly floured surface; knead 8-10 times or until smooth. Pat out dough into 6 inch square. Cut into nine squares. Plce on ungreased baking sheet.
3. Bake 10-12 minutes or until golden brown.
