Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups cake pastry flour
- 1/2 cup cocoa powder
- 3/4 tsp. baking soda
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1 1/3 cups super fine sugar
- 1/2 cup cool unsalted butter
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/2 cup hot coffee
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 2 eggs

Step 1
Preheat oven to 350 F.Grease 2 8" round cake pans and line the bottoms with parchment paper. Flour the sides of the pans.
Combine the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, salt, sugar and butter in the bowl of your mixer. Blend the ingredients until the mixture resembles crumbs.
Add the milk, coffee and vanilla to the dry ingredients and mix well. Add in the eggs and mix just until blended.
Pour the batter into the prepared pans and bake at 350 F for about 30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Cool the cake in the pans for 20 minutes before removing and cooling completely on a wire rack.
