Ingredients
- 3/4 cup butter, softened
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp baking soda
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 tsp finely shredded orange peel
- 1/2 cup sour cream or plain yogurt
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1 3/4 cup flour
- 2 cups rolled oats
- 1 cup semisweet chocolate pieces
- 1/2 cup flaked or shredded coconut

Step 1
In a large mixing bowl, beat butter with an electric mixer for 30 seconds. Add brown sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt and if you like, orange peel and beat until combined. Beat in sour cream or yogurt until combined, scraping sides of bowl occasionally. Beat in eggs and vanilla until combined. Beat in as much of the flour as you can with the mixer. Stir in any remaining flour. Stir in rolled oats, chocolate pieces and coconut.
Drop dough by rounded teaspoons 2 inches apart onto un greased cookie sheets. Bake the cookies in a 375° oven for 10-12 minutes or until edges are lightly browned. Cool on cookie sheets for 1 minute. Transfer cookies to wire racks and let cool.
