Ingredients

  • 1 c. all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 c. unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 6 tbsp. unsalted room temperature butter, cubed
  • 8 oz dark bittersweet chocolate, chopped
  • 3/4 c. white chocolate chips
  • 4 large eggs, at room temperature
  • 1 c. superfine or granulated sugar
  • 1/2 c. chopped pecans (optional)
  • 1 1/4 c. stout beer
  • 1 c. semi-sweet chocolate chips

Preparation

Step 1

In a large bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, and salt until evenly combined. Melt butter, bittersweet chocolate, and white chocolate chips in a double-boiler over very low heat, stirring constantly until melted.

Remove from heat. In a separate bowl, beat eggs and sugar on high speed for 3 min.

Add melted chocolate mixture, beating until combined. Beat flour mixture into melted chocolate mixture, add chopped pecans. Whisk in stout beer.

Pour batter into 9”x 13”prepared baking pan lined with non-stick foil. Drop semi-sweet chocolate chips evenly into the pan. Bake at 375°F for 25 to 30 min. on centre rack in the oven.

Let stout brownies cool, uncovered, to room temperature.
