Creamy Whole Grain Mustard and Dill Sauce (for Chicken) 0 Picture

Ingredients

  • 1 medium shallot (about 3 TB)
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 dry white wine
  • 1 1/2 cups low-sodium chicken broth
  • 3 TB light cream cheese
  • 1/4 cup whole grain mustard
  • 1 TB minced fresh dill
  • ground black pepper

Preparation

Step 1

After removing chicken from the skillet, add shallot and 1/4 tsp salt to the oil left in skillet. Cook over md-low heat until softened, about 2 minutes. Stir in the garlic and cook about 30 seconds.

Stir in the wine, scraping up any browned bits. Ad the broth, bring to a simmer. and cook until mixture measures about 3/4 cup. Stir in accumlated juices from chicken and return to simmer. Whisk in cream cheese and continue to simmer until sauce has thickened.

Off the heat, stil in the mustard and dill. Season with salt & pepper to taste. Sppon sauce over chicken before serving.
