Ingredients

  • 1 (18.25 ounce) box yellow cake mix
  • 4 large eggs
  • 3/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 2 cups confectioner’s sugar, sifted to remove any small lumps
  • 4 tablespoons light cream or milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 325 degrees F.

Grease a 13 x 9-inch baking pan.

In a medium bowl combine the cake mix with eggs, oil and sour cream until well combined.

Pour half of the batter into the pan.

In a small bowl mix the brown sugar and cinnamon; sprinkle over the cake batter.

Spoon in the remaining cake batter over the sugar mixture until covered.

Bake for about 40 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.

For the glaze (this should be done just before the cake comes out of the oven the cake must be still warm before adding on the glaze) in a bowl whisk the confectioner’s sugar with light cream or milk and vanilla until smooth; pour the glaze over the warm cake.

Serve the cake warm or cooled.
