Ingredients

  • 1 Box of Jumbo Size Pasta Shells
  • Filling -
  • 1 large onion chopped
  • 1/2 pound ground sausage
  • 1 pound lean ground chuck
  • 1 Cup Italian Bread Crumbs
  • 1 Cup Grated Mozarella Cheese
  • 2 Eggs
  • Sauce -
  • 32 ounce container Prego traditional sauce
  • 8 ounce can tomato sauce
  • 2 Tablespoons sugar
  • 1/4 cup of water.

Preparation

Step 1

Cook shells until tender according to package directions (If San Giorgio brand is used, cook only 1/2 package).

Rinse in cool water. While shells is cooking make filling.

Saute onion with saugsage and ground beef in skillet until onion is tender and meat mixture is well browned. Set aside and allow to cool slightly.

While mixture is still warm, add mozzarella cheese, bread crumbs and beaten eggs. Mix well.

To make sauce, combine all ingredients, spread 1/2 cup sauce over oblong greased baking dish. Drain pasta shells. Pat meat mixture into sheels and place in baking dish. When baking dish is full pour sauce over shells and cover completely. Bake at 350 for 30 minutes. Sprinkle top wiht mozzarella cheese and bake 3 more minutes.
