  • 12 slices bacon
  • 1 large onion, diced
  • 2 can (28oz each) pork and beans
  • 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tbsp prepared yellow mustard
  • 2 hot dogs, sliced

Step 1

Preheat oven to 375 degrees f.
In a large skillet, cook the bacon over low heat until crisp, 4 to 6 minutes. Remove the bacon to paper towels to drain, and then crumble. To the hot bacon fat, add the onion and cook, stirring, until softened, about 4 minutes.
In a large bowl, combine the crumbled bacon, the onion along with the bacon fat, and the pork and beans. Stir in the sugar, worcestershire sauce, and mustard. Scrape into a 13x9x2-inch baking dish and place the dish on a baking sheet. Cover with aluminum foil.
Bake in the 375 degrees f oven for 30 minutes. Remove the foil from the dish and place the sliced hot dogs on top. Bake, uncovered, until the hot dogs are heated through, another 10 minutes. This is better if slightly browned on top.
