Ingredients
- 2 c. butter, divided
- 1-1/4 c. sugar, divided
- 2 c. all-purpose flour
- 1/4 c. corn syrup
- 14-oz. can sweetened condensed milk
- 12-oz. pkg. semi-sweet chocolate chips

Preparation
Step 1
In a bowl, blend together one cup butter and 1/2 cup sugar. Add flour; mix well and knead several times. Spread in a greased 15"x10" jelly-roll pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 15 to 20 minutes, until golden.
Meanwhile, in a saucepan over medium heat, stir together remaining butter and sugar, corn syrup and condensed milk. Bring to a boil, stirring often. Reduce heat to low; continue to cook about 2 minutes, until mixture turns a light toffee color. Stir often to prevent burning.
Pour caramel mixture over baked crust; sprinkle with chocolate chips. Cool
completely before cutting into bars.
Makes 2 dozen.
