    thick slices white bread

  • 2-3

    tbsp dijon mustard

  • 12

    slices cheddar

  • oil for shallow frying

  • plain flour, for dusting

  • 3

    eggs, beaten lightly

  • watercress to garnish (optional)


1. Remove the crusts from the bread. Spread the bread with mustard, place a slice of cheese on top, then finish with another slice of bread. 2.Heat a little oil in frying pan. Dust the sandwiches lightly with flour then dip quickly in egg. 3. Fill a deep skillet pan with 1/3 full oil. Deep fry in oil until golden brown on all sides.
