Ingredients
- 3 pounds beef short ribs
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Vegetable oil
- 1/4 cup ketchup
- 1 (8 ounce) can tomato sauce
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 2 cloves garlic, finely chopped
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 1/2 tablespoons vinegar or lemon juice
- 1 1/2 tablespoons wine or liquor
- 3 tablespoons shoyu
- 1 1/2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce

Preparation
Step 1
Season meat with salt and pepper. Heat oil in large sauce pot or Dutch oven. Brown short ribs; drain excess oil. Mix remaining ingredients and pour over short ribs. Cover, bring to boil, and simmer until tender (about 1 to 1 1/2 hours), stirring occasionally. Makes 6 servings.
