Ingredients
- 1 Tbsp. Olive Oil
- 1 (2 1/2 to 3 lb.) chicken, cut into serving pieces (skin removed if desired), (or 8 bone-in skinless chicken thighs)
- 1 (10 oz.) package fresh mushrooms, sliced
- 1 envelope Lipton Recipe Secrets Onion Soup Mix
- 1 (28 oz.) can crushed tomatoes
- 1/4 cup dry red wine, or water
- 1/2 tsp. dried basil leaves, crushed

Preparation
Step 1
n 6-quart sauce pot, heat Olive Oil over medium-high heat and brown chicken. Add mushrooms and cook, stirring occasionally, 2 minutes.
Stir in remaining ingredients. Bring to a boil over high heat.
Reduce heat to low and simmer covered 30 minutes or until chicken is thoroughly cooked. Serve, if desired, over hot cooked noodles or rice.
*TO MAKE IN A CROCK POT:*
In slow cooker, add mushrooms, then chicken. Combine Lipton Recipe Secrets Onion Soup Mix, tomatoes, wine and basil; pour over chicken. Cook covered on HIGH for 4 to 6 hours, or on LOW for 8 hours.
Serve as above.
