Ingredients

  • 3/4 lb margarine
  • 1 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tbs vanilla
  • 3 eggs
  • 3/4 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 4 cups flour
  • 6 oz pecan, chopped
  • 1/2 lb chocolate, chopped or cubes

Preparation

Step 1

Cream the butter together with sugar and brown sugar. Add the eggs, one at a time. Add vanilla. mix well. In a separate bowl, combine the flour, salt and baking soda. Add the sugar mixture, one-third at a time until completely incorporated. Add the pecan pieces and mix for 1 minute. Add chocolate, reserving about 2 ounces and mix just to get the chocolate through the bater (about 1 minutes).

Scoop out into golf ball size. Place onto an ungreased cookie sheet. Press down softly with the heel of your hand to just level the top of the ball. Place at least 1 cube of the reserved chocolate on the top of each cookie. Place in a 335° oven and bake for 14 minutes or in at 350° convection oven for 10-12 minutes. The cookies will be soft when they come out. Leave on the cookie sheet to cool before transferring to a plater.
