Ingredients

  • 6 tablespoons Butter
  • 1/2 cup Sugar
  • 1 large can Pie filling (peach, blackberry, etc)
  • 1 cup All purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup Sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon Baking Powder
  • 1/2 cup Milk

Step 1

Oven 350 degrees.

Put 6 tablespoon of butter in 10" cast iron skillet (oven proof). Add 1/2 cup granulated sugar and one large (20-21 oz can) of pie filling. Max together until butter melts and the juices begin to bubble. Allow to simmer while you mix the batter.

In a medium mixing bowl, combine 1 cup of all purpose flour, 1/4 cup. granulated sugar, 1/2 teaspoon salt and 1/2 teaspoon of baking powder until well blended. Add 1/2 cup milk and stir until lumpy dough forms. Drop dough by spoonfuls (resembling dumplings) on top of the fruit mixture in the skillet. Put the skillet into the oven and bake for 30 minutes until crust is lightly browned.
