  • 2 cups Sugar
  • 1 stick Margarine
  • 1/2 cup Crisco
  • 5 Eggs - separated
  • 1 cup Buttermilk
  • tsp. Baking Soda
  • 1 cup Angel Flake Coconut
  • 2 cups Cake Four
  • 1 8 oz Cream cheese room temperature
  • 1 stick margarine softened
  • 1 box Confectioners sugar (10x)
  • 1 tsp. Vanilla
  • 1 cup Nuts coarsely chopped

Preparation

Step 1

Cake:

Cream well: 2 cups of sugar, 1 stick margarine, and 1/2 cup Crisco.
Add 5 egg yolks - one at a time;
2 cups flour
1 cup buttermilk
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 cup Angel Flake Coconut
Add 5 beaten egg whites (stiff) and fold in.

Bake in THREE layers at 350 degrees for 25 minutes.

ICING:
1 8z package of cream cheese - room temperature
1 stick margarine (softened)
1 box confectioners sugar (10x)
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup coarsely chopped nuts

Ice TOP of each layer ONLY - not the sides.
