  • 1 c butter
  • 4 T hersheys unsweetened cocoa
  • 1 c water
  • 2 c flour
  • 2 c sugar
  • 1 t salt
  • 1 t baking soda
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 c buttermilk
  • 2 t vanilla
  • TOPPING
  • 2 T cocoa
  • 1 stick butter
  • 1 lb powdered sugar
  • 4-6 T buttermilk
  • 2 t vanilla

Preparation

Step 1

1-Preheat oven 350

2-Heat butter, cocoa, and water in saucepan, bring to boil. Cool slightly. Set aside

3-Sift together flour, sugar, baking soda and salt into med bowl

4-add cocoa mix to flour mix, blend with wire whisk

5-Measure out buttermilk in liquid measuring cup, then beat the egg with buttermilk and add the vanilla to this mix

6- Combine the buttermilk mix with the cocoa/flour mix and blend til smooth

7-Pour into 1/2 size sheet pan or 10x15 jelly roll pan

8-Bake at 350 for 20 min

TOPPING

1-Melt butter and cocoa over med heat. Remove from hea

2-Add 1 lb (16 oz) powdered sugar, vanilla and buttermilk

3-Beat with hand mixer til thick and creamy
