Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/4 cup cake flour
  • 2 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 sticks unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/4 cups half and half
  • 8 ounces melted white chocolate
  • 1/4 teaspoon pink gel coloring

  • you can use all All Purpose Flour instead of blending the 2 flours, but your cake will turn out a little heavier
  • this cake is best topped with a cream cheese frosting, but a buttercream would be delicious, too

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Mix together the flours, baking powder and salt. Set aside. In a large bowl, beat butter and sugar at low speed until fluffy. One at a time, add the eggs. Beat for about 10 seconds after each egg then add vanilla. At low speed, alternately beat in half of the dry ingredients and then half of the half & half. Add remaining dry ingredients then half & half. Slowly pour in melted chocolate and beat until just mixed. Add pink gel coloring. Mix thoroughly. Pour into cake pan of choice.

* Cupcakes-20-24 minutes
* Bundt pan-35-40 minutes
* 9 inch Rounds (2)-25-30 minutes
* 8 inch Rounds (2) 30-35 minutes
* 13X9 pan-30-35 minutes
