Ingredients

  • 2 cups powdered nonfat dry milk (or times 6)
  • 3/4 cup cornstarch (4 1/2 c or 1 box)
  • 1/4 cup instant chicken bouillon (1 1/2 cups or 1 jar of granules)
  • 2 T dried onion flakes (optional) (X 6)
  • 1 t basil leaves (2T)
  • 1 t thyme leaves (2T)
  • 1/2 t pepper (3 t)
  • OR Per serving
  • 1/3 dry milk
  • 2 T cornstarch
  • 1 bouillon cube
  • shake of basil, thyme and pepper
  • 1 1/4 cups water or broth

Preparation

Step 1

Combine all ingredients or multiples thereof for larger batch, mixing well.
Store in airtight container until ready for us.
To substitute for 1 can of condensed soup:
Cmbine 1/3 cup of dry mix with 1 1/4 c of cold water in a saucepan. (I use 1 cup of mix with 4 cups of chicken broth.)
Cook and stir until thickened.
Add to casserole as you would the canned product.
