Ingredients
- Steak Ingredients:
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 egg
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon minced onion
- 1/2 cup quick-cooking oats
- 1/4 cup flour
- 2 tablespoons oil
- Gravy Ingredients:
- 1 package onion soup mix
- 1 small onion, peeled and chopped
- 3-1/2 cups water
- 4 ounce can mushroom pieces, drained
- Flour leftover from dredging steaks

Preparation
Step 1
In a large mixing bowl combine ground beef, egg, salt, pepper, garlic powder, minced onion, oats. Makes about 4 hamburger steaks and dredge in the 1/4 cup flour. Heat oil in skillet and brown steaks on both sides. Remove to a plate. Add the gravy ingredients to the skillet, bring to a boil, stirring to mix well. Add steaks back to the skillet, turn heat to simmer and let cook about 30 to 35 minutes on low heat.
