  • 2 pkgs yeast
  • 2 cups lukewarm water
  • 1/4 cup oil
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 6-7 cups bread flour

Step 1

Dissolve two packages yeast in lukewarm water. Add oil, sugar, salt and gradually add bread flour until it forms a soft dough.

Knead mixture until smooth and elastic, turn into lightly oiled owl, cover and allow to rise 1 1/2 hours. PUnch down, form into 2 loaves - round or in regular bread pans - or one large loaf and place in greased pans.

Place loaves in middle of preheated 400° oven and bake for 10 minutes, then reduce oven temperature to 350° and bake another 20 -2 5 minutes, or until nicely browned. Remove from pans and transfer to cooling rack.
