Ingredients
- 1/2 cup vegetable shortening
- 1/2 cup peanut butter
- 1 1/4 cups brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon vanilla
- 3 tablespoons milk
- 1 egg
- 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 3/4 teaspoon baking soda

Preparation
Step 1
In a large electric mixer bowl place shortening, peanut butter, brown sugar and vanilla. Beat together until creamy. Add milk and egg and blend in until well mixed. Combine flour, salt and baking soda and stir in to blend with the peanut butter mixture. Chill mixture for 30 minutes. make into 1-inch balls and place on ungreased cookie sheets 2 inches apart. Press down with a fork one way then the other way to make a crisscross pattern. Bake in a preheated oven at 375 degrees for 10-12 minutes until set and brown.
Make 48 cookies.
