Ingredients

  • 2 19.75oz cans of Pork and Beans
  • 1 16oz can Pinto Beans
  • 4 slices of bacon, diced
  • 1/2 medium white onion, chopped
  • 1 medium green bell pepper, diced
  • 1 stalk celery, diced
  • 1/2 cup BBQ Sauce
  • 2 Tbsp splenda brown sugar mix
  • 1 Tbsp smoked salt
  • 1 Tbsp garlic salt
  • water or more bbq sauce to even out the mixture

Step 1

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Fry diced bacon in pan, remove cooked bacon and drain on paper towel. Pour off all but 1 tsp. of grease and add onions, bell peppers and celery, saute for about 7 mins, or until slightly cooked. Drain and rinse 1 can of pork and beans and the can of pinto beans. Place them and the remaining can of pork and beans in a small casserole dish. Crumble the cooked bacon into the bean mixture, and add the slightly cooked veggies. Mix together the bbq sauce with the brown sugar mix, smoked salt and garlic salt until the brown sugar mix dissolves. Pour into dish with the beans and mix well. Adjust the thickness or lack of with either water or more bbq sauce. Cover with foil and bake for 20 mins, uncover and bake for another 5 to 10 mins, till the sides start to crust.
