By

Looking for a dessert you can prep in ten minutes or less? Here it is! Not only are these baked apples easy to prepare they’re also easy to experiment with. I like to try out different spices every time I make them. Sometimes I even personalize each one with a different aroma!

Preparation

Step 1

1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F or if you’re in a rush to 400 degrees F. Roll the apple on its side and cut off the top half-inch or so. Save these hats. Scoop out the middle of the apple with a small spoon. Remove all the seeds and the woody core but try not to punch through the bottom.
2. Sprinkle the middle of each apple with a light dusting of spice. Toss a spoonful of brown sugar into the center; you don’t need to fill it up completely. Add a dab of butter and replace the apple hat.
3. Place the apples in a baking pan and bake until heated through and soft, about an hour. Serve with lots of vanilla ice cream!
