Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 tablespoon parsley
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup cottage cheese
  • 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese
  • 2 cans crescent rolls
  • 6 ounces grated mozzarella cheese
  • Pepper to taste
  • Milk or margarine
  • 1 (10 ounce) package Portuguese sausage (Linguisa), cubed and cooked
  • 1 teaspoon basil
  • 1/2 teaspoon oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 small can mushrooms
  • 1 can (6 ounces) tomato paste
  • Sliced Olives
  • Minced garlic to taste
  • Sesame seeds (optional)

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Brown ground beef, parsley, basil salt, oregano, pepper and garlic to taste. Drain. Add tomato paste and simmer on low for 15 minutes. Blend egg, cottage cheese and Parmesan cheese in a separate bowl. Set aside.

Grease a 9x13 pan. Line pan with 1 can crescent rolls. Pinch sides together for correct the seams. Pack meat mixture, egg and cheese mixture, mushrooms olives., Portuguese sausage and grated mozzarella cheese. Cover with remaining can of crescent rolls. Pinch together again to correct seams and form a seal with the pan. Rub the top with milk or margarine and sesame seeds if desired.

Bake until golden brown, 15 minutes, Remove from oven and let stand for 10 minutes.

Cut and serve.
