Ingredients
- 1 tbsp. butter
- 1 tbsp. olive oil
- 1 medium onion, diced
- 2 carrots, diced
- 2 stalks celery, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, crushed
- salt and pepper
- 1 tbsp. tomato paste
- 2 lbs. Ground beef
- 2 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
- 1 cup beef stock
- 1 1/2 cups peas
- Cheesy mashed potatoes (recipe follows)

Preparation
Step 1
1.Preheat oven to 400F. Add butter and oil to a large pan over medium heat, saute the onions, carrots, celery and garlic until tender and slightly browned. Season with salt and pepper and add the tomato paste and mix evenly.
2.Add the beef and cook until beef is no longer pink. Add the Worcestershire sauce and stock and cook for another 10 minutes. Re-season and mix in the peas. Transfer to a vegetable sprayed casserole dish and spread the beef evenly on the bottom of the pan.
3.Top the beef with the cheesy mashed potatoes, smoothing out evenly. Rake through the potato mixture with a fork and place the dish in the oven for 20 minutes, until the top is browned.
