Ingredients
- 330 grams cake flour
- 1 tbs. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 230 grams butter, softened
- 454 grams sugar
- 5 large eggs
- 2 tsp. vanilla extract
- 300 ml buttermilk

Step 1
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Prepare 2 8 x 2 inch round cake pans.
Sift together flour, baking powder, and salt.
Cut butter into 1 inch pieces, fitted with a paddle attachment. Beat for 3 minutes onmedium high until butter is light and creamy in color. Stop and scrape the bowl. Cream the butter for an additional 60 seconds.
Add the sugar 1/4 cup at a time, beating 1 minute after each addition. Scrape the sides of the bowk. Add the eggs one at a time.
Reduce mixer speed. Stir vanilla into the buttermilk. Add the dry ingredients alternately with the buttermilk. Mix just until incorporated. Scrape side on the bowl nd mix for 15 seconds.
Spoon batter into prepared pans and drop onto counter top to burst any air bubbles.
Bake 45 - 50 minutes.
