Lemon Grilled Chicken

Ingredients
- 3 to 4 pounds chicken pieces
- 1/2 C. lemon juice
- 5 tsp. sugar
- 1 tsp. olive oil
- 1 bay leaf
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp. poultry seasoning
- 1/2 tsp. basil
- 1/4 tsp. pepper

Step 1
Mix together marinade ingredients; cook, stirring constantly, over medium heat for 2 to 3 minutes. Let cool to room temperature.
Place chicken in shallow dish. Pour marinade over chicken. Cover and refrigerate for 1 to 2 hours. Remove chicken from marinade. (Be sure to discard bay leaf.)
Place chicken skin side up on grill, 8 inches from heat. Cook, turning every 15 minutes, for 1 hour or until done.
During last 30 minutes of cooking, brush generously with marinade.
