Sugar Cookies

1963 Betty Crocker Cookie Book Recipe.
"Ethel's Sugar Cookies.

Ingredients

• 3/4 Cup Shortening (Part Butter or Margarine)
• 1 Cup Sugar
• 2 Eggs (Room Temperature)
• 1/2 tsp Lemon Extract or Almound Extract
• 2 1/2 Cups Gold Medal Flour (NOT self-rising)
• 1 Tsp. Baking Powder
• 1 Tsp. Salt

Preparation

Step 1

**Oven at 375
Chill at least 1 hour. (2-3 Hours is better!)
Roll out 1/8 to just a smidge thicker.
Use ungreased Baking Sheet (Parchemnt Paper)
Usually bake 6-8 minutes at 375 degrees.

NOTE: Use part of dough and keep rest chilled until you need it. Just remember...the thinner you roll, the crisper the cookie!
