Ingredients

  • ◾1/2 cup butter-flavored shortening
  • ◾1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • ◾1 egg
  • ◾1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • ◾1 can (14 ounces) sweetened condensed milk
  • ◾3 tablespoons creamy peanut butter*
  • ◾1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • ◾1 cup graham cracker crumbs
  • ◾1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ◾1/8 teaspoon salt
  • ◾2 cups (1 pound) plain M&M's
  • ◾1/2 cup chopped pecans

Preparation

Step 1

1.Preheat oven to 350F degrees. Line baking sheets with parchment paper or use ungreased sheets.
2.In a large mixing bowl, beat shortening and brown sugar with an electric mixer on medium speed until light and fluffy.
3.Beat in the egg, then add the vanilla and condensed milk.
4.Mix in the peanut butter until well combined.
5.In another bowl, stir together the flour, graham cracker crumbs, baking soda and salt.
6.Gradually add the dry flour mixture to the creamed mixture and mix well.
7.Stir in the M&M's and chopped nuts.
8.Drop dough by teaspoonfuls onto prepared cookie sheets at least 1 inch apart.
9.Bake for 10 to 12 minutes or until golden brown.
10.Immediately transfer the cookies to a wire rack to cool completely.

*It is recommended that you do not use organic or reduced fat peanut butter in this recipe.
