  • 1

    cup butter (room temperature)

  • 1

    cup white sugar

  • 1

    egg yolk

  • 1

    teaspoon vanilla extract

  • 3

    teaspoons milk

  • 2 1/4

    cups cake flour

  • 1/2

    cup powdered cocoa

  • Dash of salt

  • 1

    cup chocolate chips

Directions

1. In a mixing bowl, cream together the butter and sugar. Add the egg yolk, vanilla and milk. Beat in the flour, cocoa and salt until well blended. Cover the dough and refrigerate at least 2 hours or until firm. 2. Heat oven to 350 degrees. Shape the dough into 1 inch balls and place on an ungreased baking sheet. Press your thumb firmly down on the ball to create an indention. Sprinkle chocolate chips into the indention until full. 3. Bake for 12 to 14 minutes, cool 2 minutes on the baking sheet and then transfer to a cooling rack. Note: You can fill the indention on the cookies with other things. Get creative!
