Ingredients

  • 2 c. sugar
  • 1 3/4 c. all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 c. baking cocoa
  • 1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 c. skim milk
  • 1/2 c. egg beater
  • 1/2 c. applesauce, unsweetened
  • 2 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 1 c. boiling water

Step 1

In large mixing bowl, combine dry ingredients. Beat in milk, egg substitutes, applesauce and vanilla. Add water; beat on medium speed for 2 minutes (Batter will be very thin). Pour into 13x9x2 baking pan coated with nonstick cooking spray. Bake at 350 for 30 minutes or until toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean. Dust w/powdered sugar, if desired. Let cool.
