Ingredients

  • 2 Tablespoons oil
  • 1-1/2 pound beef stew meat, cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 1 cup sliced carrots
  • 1/2 cup uncooked medium pearl barley
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 medium onion, cut into thin wedges
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 (14-1/2 oz.) cans ready-to-serve beef broth
  • 1 (14.5 oz.) can diced tomatoes, undrained
  • 2 cups Green Giant Frozen Cut Green Beans

Preparation

Step 1

Heat oil in Dutch oven or large saucepan over medium-high heat until hot. Add beef stew meat; cook until browed on all sides. Drain.
Add all remaining ingredients except green beans; mix well Bring to boil. Reduce heat to low; cover and simmer 1 hour or until beef is tender.
Stir in green beans; cook, uncovered, over medium heat for an additional 15 minutes or until beans are tender.
