Ingredients

  • 1 lb.Blue crab meat
  • 1 1/2 cups mayo
  • 1/2 tsp celery salt
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 1/2 tbsp dijon mustard
  • 1 tbsp.worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 tsp Black pepper
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley
  • 1 tsp melted butter
  • 1 tbsp Old Bay
  • 1 egg
  • 1 small shallot finely minced
  • 1/2 cup panko bread crumbs
  • 2 tbsp melted butter

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 400
Drain crabmeat by gently squeezing then discard all excess liquid

Step 2

Place crab shallot and parsley in a large bowl

Step 3

In a separate bowl combine may, lemon juice celery salt mustard worcestershire sauce and pepper

Step 4

Set aside 1/3 of the mixture to use as a topping

Step 5

To the remaining mixture add Old bay, egg and melted butter combine with whisk

Step 6

Start by adding 2/3 cup imperial mix to crab and parsley
Add enough imperial mix to coat crabmeat
Mixture should be wet but not soupy

Step 7

Put crab imperial in casserole dish
Do not pack tightly

Step 8

Lightly cover crab imperial with some of the remaining sauce

Step 9

In a small bowl combine panko and 2 tbsp melted butter
Sprinkle panko mixture over crab imperial
Lightly sprinkle with paprika

Step 10

Bake for 12 minutes or until golden brown
Finish under broiler for brown on top for approximately 2 minutes.
