Ingredients

  • 6 Granny Smith apples
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 3 tsp cornstarch
  • 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
  • Crumb Topping
  • 2 cups brown sugar
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1-1/2 cup quick oats
  • 1/4 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/8 tsp nutmeg
  • 1 cup butter melted

Preparation

Step 1

Crumb topping: Combine the sugar, flour, oats cinnamon and nutmeg. Add the butter and mix until crumbly. Set aside.

Step 2

Apple mix: In a large bowl combine brown sugar, cornstarch, and cinnamon. Add apples and stir until all coated.

Step 3

Cut 12 pieces of heavy foil 18" long. Use two pieces of foil for each pack.

Step 4

Divide apple mix on foil. Top with 1/2 - 1 cup of crumb topping. Seal packs.

Step 5

Cook on campfire coals 12-15 minutes.
Cook in 400 degree oven 15 minutes
Freeze. Thaw 12-24 hours and then cook.
