Ingredients

  • Dough:
  • 1 cup warm water
  • 3/4 cup buttermilk, room temp
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • 3 Tbsp regular yeast
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 eggs
  • 5-6 cups bread flour
  • Filling:
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp cinnamon
  • 4 Tbsp softened butter
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla
  • 1/8 tsp almond extract
  • Icing:
  • 6 Tbsp softened butter
  • 3 1/2 cups icing sugar
  • 4/5 Tbsp milk
  • 3/4 tsp vanilla

Preparation

Step 1

Using a stand mixer add the water, buttermilk, sugar, melted butter and yeast. Mix. Let sit for 10-15 minutes. The yeast will get bubbly. Once the yeast is bubbly add salt, eggs and flour. Mix for 8-10 minutes. After mixing, cover the bowl with plastic wrap and allow to rest for 10 minutes.
Prepare the filling by adding all the ingredients.
Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
Roll out dough on a greased countertop (spray with Pam).
Smear butter over dough and sprinkle with sugar mixture.
Roll the dough and cut into 12 pieces using dental floss.
Place rolls in a baking dish and over and let rise for 30 minutes.
Bake for 18-20 minutes.
Make the icing and cover the rolls.
