Ingredients

  • 3 lbs. ground beef
  • 1 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/4 tsp. black pepper
  • 2 cps. plain bread crumbs
  • 1 cp. milk
  • 2/3 cp. steak sauce (A-1) divided
  • 2 diced onions (1 1/2 cp.)
  • 1 cp. diced green bell pepper
  • 1/2 lb. thick sliced American Cheese
  • 2 olive slices

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 350 F .

Step 2

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, eggs, black pepper, milk, 5 Tbsp. of steak sauce, onion, and green pepper. Mix well.

Step 3

On a baking sheet, lined with parchment, shape the loaf to resemble a mummy's body with crossed arms. Brush with remaining steak sauce.

Step 4

Bake in a preheated oven for 1 hour or until done (internal of 165 F).

Step 5

While meatloaf is baking, slice American cheese into 1 inch strips.

Step 6

When meatloaf is finished baking, take out of oven and allow to rest 5 minutes. Then lay strips of American cheese across the body so that it looks like wraps around a mummy. Trim any overhanging cheese and return to oven till cheese is slightly melted, about 1 minute.
